After a clean xp installation, I cant connect to windowsupdate.microsoft.com,msn.com

Hi Guys,

I recently had to install xp pro again on my compaq presario v2000.
And, when I wanted to update windows, i was not able to connect to the
update webpage of microsoft and also i wanted to get the latest msn
messenger but i wasnot able to connect to msn site... I couldnt figure
out what the heck wrong with it because I can connect to any other
webpages....

If anyone can help me out, I will really appreciate it..

Microsoft
Update, or by
using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP installation
