Updates will not install

Hi All,
I run XP sp2. Recently I tried to install new motherboard drivers but the
installation failed and I ended up doing a windows repair. That all worked
well but now I can't install any windows updates. They all download but none
will install.
I got IE7 directly outside of windows update and that installed ok. It
would not install through windows update.
Can anyone help me please.

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP
installation:

NB: Also applies to clean installs, upgrade installs, and Recovery installs.

Sounds like you are not having a good day but thanks for your response.
I did do a check on previous posts but couldn't find anything similar to my
problem after a windows repair but maybe I was using the wrong search words.
Anyway I'll check that out when I get home tonight and see how I go.
