Cannot update Windows Vista Ultimate...

Hello,

This is quite frustrating, as a recent install (upgrade) of Windows Vista
Ultimate (from XP Pro) will not allow me to run Microsoft Update.

When I try Update from the Control Panel, I get error 8024402C.

When I try update.microsoft.com, I get error message 80070002.

I've tried the resolutions indicated for both error messages, and nothing
helps.

Help! As I really don't want to have to download the entire Vista update
catalog and run updates from there.
