Re: Windows Update IP Addresses
For security purposes, the IP address for the Windows Update
web site constantly changes and it is not a fixed address.

Greetings,
I have many (82) remote locations as part of my network. All of these
locations have very limited direct access to the internet. All of the
computers in question are WinXP SP2. They all have a broadband internet
connection and are behind a Cisco PIX 501 with a split tunnel. Under this
configuration, direct access to the internet is controlled by using the
following;
names
name X.X.X.X ExternalDomain.com
name 10.9.X.X LocalNetworkNamePCI(This is the specific computer needing
updates)
access-list inside_access_in permit tcp host LocalNetworkNamePCI host
Domain.com eq www
The result of this is that I am not able to access the Windows Update site
for these locations as I have not been able to obtain the IP Address(es) for
this site.
My question is, can someone supply me with the IP Addresses or tell me where
I can obtain this list. As you can imagine, it is very important that I add
this information to my PIX 501's and updates my remote locations.
Thank you,
Brian Frazer
