RE: UPDATE always failed since Feb.13,2008
Hello,
What is in the registry under the following key:
HKey_Local_Machine\Components click on this key in the left-hand side of
the registry editor.
What is listed under names on right-hand side?
I just want the list of names, not the list of subkeys. Not looking for the
values yet.
Should be like around 4-5 names, like (default,
Publisherpolicychangetime,StoreArchitecture,StoreF ormatVersion,etc)
What other names are listed there.
Thanks,
Darrell Gorter[MSFT]

Error code is 800719e4. Right now there are 8 update files being failed at
installation. Alan Price in TECHNET FORUM is trying to help me fixing it.
He suggested:To clear the cache, navigate to
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download (assuming C: is your Windows
partition). Erase all the files in the Download folder (but not the folder
itself). You'll have to provide UAC permission to do it. Once they're
erased, go back into Windows Update, force it to check for updates, and
then
try to install them again.
I did according to him. It still failed.
Is there anybody else can help me? My computer is HP Pavillion a1730n AMD
64x2 4600+, Thank you.
