WINDOWS UPDATE FAILURES

I HAVE SEVERAL CRITICAL UPDATES THAT COME BACK "INSTALLATION FAILURE" ERROR
CODE 0X80246007 THEN STATING TO INSTALL AGAIN. NOW OF COURSE I TRY BUT MY
EFFORTS COME TO THE SAME END. WHATCOULD BE MY OPTIONS NOW? OS IS XP

message when you connect to the Microsoft Windows Update Web site or to the
Microsoft Update Web site

The necessary services are disabled or unavailable. Error 0x80246008

BTW Lady Victoria, drop the all caps as it's considered rude and shouting
and I've got a headache.

I am having the very same problem. I can download the updates, but they will
not install. The error code on the failure is 0x80246007. Background
Intelligent Transfer Service is set to automatic and is started. Automatic
Updates is set on automatic and started. I just had to reload Windows XP Pro
after some problems. I would very much appreciate your help as this situation
is desperate.
