XP SP2 Windows Update

When I try to connect to Windows Update, the reply I receive is:

"Install the ActiveX control required to view the website
The website will not display correctly on your computer without this
control. To install it:"

I have installed the ActiveX and have also followed the 2 resolutions
suggested and cannot get through to the website. The Internet Explorer
Information Bar appeared the very first time but no longer appears. Can
anyone suggest any help?

An error occurs when Windows Update is unable to download and install the
Windows Update
ActiveX component.
Can also be caused when a firewall blocks the download of the component.

Try adding the following sites to the IE Trusted Sites zone

http://update.microsoft.com
http://download.windowsupdate.microsoft.com

You may need to uncheck "Require Server Verification (https for all sites
in this zone
to add these sites.
Recheck when finished.

You receive an "Initialization error 0x800A1391" error message and the
Windows Update Web
site does not appear

As Joan suggested I added those 2 sites she suggested to my trusted sites.
This did not fix the problem though. What finally fixed it was this. Under
Tools- Manage add-ons- I found the following disabled, "MUWeb Control Class -
Active X Control disabled." So I enabled this and now can access Windows
Update! Thanks for all your help.
