Continuing failure installing Update for Windows Vista (KB938371)

I have tried several times to install the folloing update without sucsess.
Have reviewed help and technical info to no avail. What do I do next to be
sucsessful

Have you tried downloading the standalone version?

First check if you have KB937287 installed on your computer. If not go to
Download details: Update for Windows Vista (KB938371)

There you will find both standalone versions of KB937287 and KB938371 on the same page, download both.
Before installing disconnect from internet, close anti-virus and windows firewall programs.
Install KB937287 (no reboot required) then install KB738371 reboot and it should install without multi-booting or errors.

I have put this procedure also on other forums and have many acknowledgements of success.
