it?

RE: Vista Windows Update error 800B0100 solution.
OK, this FINALLY worked for me.

Do a search on Microsoft's website for the Microsoft Installer Update
Utility.

Download and install it. Then run it.

A list of programs that have been previously installed using the installer
will show.

If you have a program in that list that you have been unable to install,
click it and proceed. If there are any programs in the list you don't use,
remove them too.

REBOOT your Machine from a hard stop. (Not just restart, close it down,
then restart) THEN go to Microsft Windows Update and run it. It should run,
(mine caught up with 40 updates)

Sounds like your best answer is to contact the originator of your system.

In my case, (vista) The system was corrupted by programs that were not
compatible with the OS.

Noteably NERO, and a corrupt Media Player installation.

RE: Vista Windows Update error 800B0100 solution.
I tried the re-installing Vista solution, was able to find the upgrade
prompt, and it seemed to work successfully. It made a terrible mess. I can no
longer get on my wireless internet connection. When Vista opens, I get a
message saying Synaptics touchpad enhancements has stopped working. Then I
immediately get a blue screen that says there's a problem but disappears
before I can copy it completely. The first string of numbers after system
problem is 0X0000008E. Also, my sound card stopped working. Can anyone tell
me where to start to fix this. I can copy everything and do a clean install,
but would like to avoid that if possible. Thanks.

RE: Vista Windows Update error 800B0100 solution.
I had the blue screen problems on this computer and had the memory
reinstalled. Try the Memory Diagnostics Tool. It fixed the problems I had as
I also had a problem with the sound card and modem as well. I hope this helps.
