Failed NET Framework update

I keep getting the security update for the NET Framework service pack 1
(KB928366), but it never installs. I have W2K. How can I get this thing to
install? Thanks.

Unfortunately problems with updating Net Framework 1 and 2 almost always
require the programs to be deleted and then reinstalled. Removing the
programs isn't a straight forward process and you need to follow the MS
guidance on this.

Unless you want to analyse the symptoms and try to do it smarter...

Which may just be a guaranteed way of resolving any dependency problem
or version conflict without first trying any analysis at all.
