VISTA Update Disaster

I just got off the phone with the MS Support Center after 3 HOURS of trying
to install and configure the latest Vista updates. Even though he was
controlling my machine using the Assist feature, he was unable to get it to
boot from an endless 'Configuring Updates' display. We finally had to boot
from the Vista DVD just to restore the system to the last good checkpoint. 3
FULL HOURS, and I still don't have the updates installed! I'm happy that he
was able to get me running again, and they promised to call me tomorrow with
a solution, but, come on Microsoft, EVERYONE is reporting this problem. When
are you going to own up to it?

so sent of details of Issues only to receive a reply to research Windows
Vista Communities for a solution. What a brush off. I have had one reply to
my posting on 10/1/08 (Warning faulty windows update) from a TaurArian MVP No
problems here, Vista Ultimate updated. No idea what to do next ? Gmax
