I receive error messge 0x80040154 in several aplications

Dear Sirs
I have a Windows Vista Home premium
I receive the error message 0x80040154 in Windows Update, Windows Defender
and when I try to install updates from Microsoft the same error message.
I already try many possible solutions published in this discussion group:
specially with regsvr32 MSXML3.DLL
with a list of dll
> net stop wuauserv

> Repeat for the following:
> regsvr32 wuapi.dll
> regsvr32 wups.dll
> regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
> regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll
> regsvr32 wucltui.dll
> regsvr32 wuweb.dll
> regsvr32 MSXML3.dll
> regsvr32 qmgr.dll
> regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll
> regsvr32 jscript.dll

> net start wuauserv

but this solutions lead me to other error messages such as: 0x8004005
I also try other related solutions that I found in Microsoft support, but
none was successful.
This is becoming a mind puzzle instead of really find a practical solution.

Can you please try to assist me?
