Ultimate Extras

My problems with Windows Update:

A. I installed Vista Ultimate, a few Extras -- notably, Windows
DreamScene (but not the Dream Pack) -- are present on Windows Update,
so I downloaded and installed them, along with latest Vista updates.
All was working well.
B. Next, I proceeded to install Vista SP1RC1, then updates. Now
DreamScene is no longer working, nor is its exectuable on my HD any
longer, NOR is it even available on Windows Update any more.
C. So I decide to reinstall Vista RTM clean, hoping that it was SP1
which screwed things up.
D. No joy after new install of Vista RTM on FRESHLY wiped drive. Now,
absolutely NO Extras appear on Windows Update.

Hmmmm.....
Questions:

Did Microsoft find out that SP1 was screwing up their own extras, and
rather than fix the problem, simply pulled the Extras from WU?

Did Microsoft choose to issue users of Ultimate exactly ONE chance at
downloading DreamScene and the DreamPack, along with the rest of the
Extras?

Have I wandered into the Twilight Zone again?

What am I missing here?

HELP NEEDED!!!
