printer

I have windows xp and a HP printer, was printing copies ran out of paper
and printer/computer went haywire. Now my print jobs are ready but can not
get printer back on line. Can make copies, looked for an update, and have had
all updates installed. Was referred to Service Pack 322389, but dont know how
to get to it even if I need it. Any suggestions?

If all updates are installed, WinXP SP2 is already installed.

As your problem has nothing to do with Windows Update, I'm forwarding you to

Open a command prompt and type "net start spooler" (without quotes) and
press Enter.

If that doesn't work, post back and include:

- make/model of printer
- how is printer connected to computer
- what you mean by "printer/computer went haywire" (include text of any
error messages)
- have you re-booted since the problem?
- what else have you done?

Note that it may be necessary to clean out the pending print jobs.
Hopefully you can re-create them.
