Windows Updates - Failure to install

I cannot install any updates that require restarting the computer (and
'configuring the update').

The following stages occur:
Installations download OK;
Computer restarts, configuring the updates in the process;
Login is OK;
Windows Update log shows failure (error code 80070003).

A manual download and installation of an update results in another error -
"...Not enough memory..." and the update again fails.

Thanks for your information. I have tried this but it did not work - the
error occures after running the uploads not while checking for them and, it
seems, only when a restart is required.
