IF any of the updates were for the video [display] adapter, then suggest
you Roll Back the driver to the previous version. This can be done via
Device Manager > Display Adapter
If no joy or the video adapter driver was not updated, suggest you try
these next:

If, after doing *all* the recommended steps, this does not 'speed' the
system up, suggest you use Task Manager to view just what is 'eating'
CPU cycles.
