Recent updates have slowed my internet access

After installing new upgrades a few weeks ago my system is so slow cold
molasses in the winter time going uphill is faster. I have checked with my
internet supplier (COMCAST) and they did several tests. It seems the problem
began just after updates. I run IE6.0. Is hteir a fix? Original update would
not allow IE at all and then there was a new update that was to resolve this
issue. Wel now I can get in but 5-10 minutes for windows to open and graphics
to appear seem excessive.
Any one have an answer?

IF any of the updates were for the video [display] adapter, then suggest
you Roll Back the driver to the previous version. This can be done via
Device Manager > Display Adapter

If no joy or the video adapter driver was not updated, suggest you try
these next:

If, after doing *all* the recommended steps, this does not 'speed' the
system up, suggest you use Task Manager to view just what is 'eating'
CPU cycles.
