KB941568 update causes monitor to go blank

Has anyone had any issues with monitors going blank after installing KB941568?
I have a dual monitor system running off an ATI Radeon X800 GTO
After installing this update my primary monitor would suddenly go into power
save randomly when I was doing any kind of graphics work (browsers, photo
editing etc).
Only way to recover it was to reboot.
Having uninstalled KB941568 it now seems to be fine again.
Since this update was to do with DirectShow, I smell a rat.
