Microsoft.Net framework 2

I have microsoft framework 1.1 already installed. When I try to download from
microsoft framework2 it downloads but does not install. Running Windows XP2
Please help.

Im of the understanding that I have to uninstall microsoft framework 1.1
and reinstall
and then try to update with microsoftframework 2.0

Did you doubleclick the executable file (or the *.msi (??)) file that you
downloaded to start the installation? What errors are you receiving, or
does it not respond in any way?

No. Read the KB that PABear linked you to, please.
..NET 1.1 and .NET 2.0 are NOT related. They run side by side.

Installing one is not required in order to use the other.
There must be software installed on your system that requires either
Framework in order for it to run.

If there is not, do NOT install it.

No, you do not have to uninstall .NET Framework 1.1 in order to install .NET
Framework 2.0.

Has Windows Update offered you .NET Framework 2.0? If not, why did you post
in this newsgroup?
