windows updates won't install

after a computer problem involving the ntldr missing error occurred and using
my windows install disc to fix the problem my windows updates wont install i
click install and it starts the process when i check the progress it stops
and says could not install updates i am waiting to install 85 new updates

I currently have the same problem. (Windows XP SP2)

I upgraded my m/b, cpu, video card... and Windows had a fit! :-) So I
used my original Windows install disk to run a repair, which took about 30
minutes and seemed to "reinstall" Windows.

Afterward, I went to Windows Update and received 84 updates. All downloaded
but none would install. I would get a message saying that they all failed.

This continues despite reboots and the like.

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP
