Windows Update not working

I uninstalled XP SP2 to get some programs to install and work correctly, but
now the Windows Update will not install anything. Running XP professional.

And have you reinstalled SP2 yet? SP2 must be installed before you can use
Windows Update or Automatic Update to install any other updates.

Thanks for your info. SP2 could not be installed, as it only installs as a
Windows Update, and that would not work. Through further investigation, I
found a MS support article that did the trick - had to register the Wups2.dll
file in Windows. Whatever that did, it allowed 15 up[dates to be installed,
then SP2, then a whole bunch of others.

[Installing SP2 manually via the link I posted would've resolved everything.
You needn't have installed any of the first 15 updates, just SP2 and all
post-SP2 updates.]
