Sony Camcorder not recognized by Windows XP

My PC recently stopped recognizing my Sony camcorder when plugged into the
firewire port. Everything I've found on microsoft.com does not seem to help,
even the hotfixes. The camera recognizes it has a DV connection, BIOS IEEE
1394 is enabled, camera used to work just fine, no special drivers required
to work from Sony, tried it on 3 different PC's, 3 different cables, 3
nervous break downs... I'm guessing I need some kind of Windows update. Any
help on this would be wonderful. Merry Christmas to all!!

I cannot see that this has anything to do with WIN/MS updates.
Search for the hardware group within that web interface you are using.
I have never bought Sony gear, but I would have thought they have a forum
for just this sort of problem.
Also, try Google.
