946627 can be downloaded from the link Rui posted but it's also available as
a High Priority update at Windows Update and is being pushed via Automatic
Updates.

This only applies to IE6 running in WinXP SP2 with 942615 installed.

I have been holding back on this one, so with the fix out I have just d/l
and installed. Shows in Add/Remove and have not been re-offered in WU or
via yellow shield - the only update offered is this fix 946627.
The log does show a couple of 'failed with errors' entries? but don't know
if they are significant. So it looks as if it didn't install properly - yet
I have no problems with IE6?
In which case I had better download 946627 and be damned?

If 946627 is listed in A/RP, you should be fine, assuming you're not
experiencing any problems.

Susan is a fellow MVP (SBS) and one several MVPs who have been working
closely with the MSRC and the IE team /on your behalf/ to get this
IE6-specific problem resolved and to get the resolution made available to
all users via WU/MU/AU. All of us very much appreciate the cooperationg and
responsiveness shown by the MSRC and the IE team since 11 Dec-07.

In Susan's post that you quoted, she's merely saying that she's no longer
going to be monitoring that thread or any other related threads.

The MS public newsgroups are not moderated, as you well know.

So you dont lay any importance on the three or four lines in the log that
mention 'fail'?

Thank you for the info re Susan - shame she did not mention it.
I agree that on this occassion I noted that another from MSRC popped up to
let all know the current situation - it is nice/comforting to see them do it
and I for one would welcome their active contribution more often, even
though the contribution may be 'taken as is' - but then whose is not?

Assuming you're referring to Update History at Windows Update website, no.

Let me amend my previous statement: As long as both 942615 and 946627 are
listed in Add/Remove Programs, don't worry about it.
