week & report back. machine at work location. replying from home. i also
never completed the december's updates on home xp home version, sp2 machine.
i usually do work first, & then home. work is xp pro, sp2.

i manually allowed the update to install. update was installed with macafee
running. my first problem was that i couldn't print from "print preview" in
ie 6. then a lock up. sometimes ie6 worked. would not print from
file>print....>, & sometimes it would print. i did not leave update
installed too long, as i needed machine for work. the removal allowed me to
perform work functions, so i have left machine alone. to the best of my
memory, that's my experience with ie6 problem.
