What is error message 0x80248007?
After having to conduct a PC recovery, I am trying to download and install
all the current high priority windows updates but am unable to because of the
error above. How do I overcome this problem?

I get the same message when checking for Windows Updates. I checked my log
file & it appears the problem started on December 15 - below is a copy of the

I get the "oo7" error message since then, and I have tried to correct the
problem with the suggested solutions, but there is no change.

Re: What is error message 0x80248007?
Go here:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/blog...showentry=1172

Download the latest Version of the Windows Update Agent
Temporarily DISABLE the installed antivirus. This includes any services
that it runs. Please consult the Help file of said AV or visit the
manufacturer's web site to learn how this is accomplished.

Follow the instructions to install the WUA.
IF you receive a message that it is already installed, follow the
instructions concerning /wuforce.
Restart the system
IF the updates download but do not install, see this :
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943144

REMEMBER to reenable the AV after restarting the system.
