internet does not work, email does

after windows automatic update the internet does not work any more, email does.
Norton does also not function any more. who can help

I have the same problem. IE 7.0 does not work . OE does work. Networkings
does not work. This all began after the last windows update that I did on
12-14-07. I tried uninstalling the updates, IE 7.0(did not uninstall),
Disabling Norton and disabling Windows firewall. Someone please help.

Windows version? IE version? Norton application?

I'm having the same problem, although I dont think it happened after a windows update

I can't access the internet in Internet Explorer (ver. 7) or FireFox (2.0.0.12). Mail works, MSN works, FTP works so it seems like its port 80 only.

I turned off windows firewall, and there are no other firewalls (no router).

I have the exact same issue after a windows update today. I am running VSP1 and neither Firefox or IE8 work after today. The network tests OK and FTP, email and all other network functions are OK.

What did Microsoft do? We need someone to get to the bottom of this quickly.
