I run Vista Home Premium 64-bit with Office Enterprise 2007. I had the
same problem even with downloading Office 2007 SP1 and installing it
from my hard drive. To solve it I had to uninstall Office 2007 using
Control Panel "Programs and Features". I re-install Office 2007 and
was able to install Office 2007 SP1 without any problem. I use
CCleaner to clean my registry. May be it cleaned it too well. In any
case Office 2007 SP1 is installed and everything is fine.

Registry cleaners can be good when properly used.
But sometimes they remove something that seems unimportant until much
later.
I suggest when using a registry cleaner, do not remove any keys unless
you positively identify them as not needed.
If you do not know or are unsure, leave it alone.
Unfortunately that means you need to understand the registry or know
someone who does.
