admin error when tring to get xp updates

I have a stand alone home sys. had several viruses.did recover. ran Trend
housecall, it cleared most but I cannot update xp, cannot reload norten,also
locked out of settings ,transfer files, control panel, regedit, all above
actions are stopped by administrator. how do i remove false admin and regain
control. I have tryed all the MS methods.

The system has been *serverly* compromised. Suggest you preserve any
data that you want saved and then format and reinstall the OS.
That's the only way to insure that nothing malicious remains.
Sorry, but that's just the way it is considering the current state of
malware.
