Error 80070643 when Update for Windows Vista KB952763.

I'm trying to update a laptop with vista home premium version installed. The
update is KB942763. After several attempts, this update doesn't install and
an error occurs (error code 80070643).
I tried to change office 2003 definitions according to the "help"
suggestions, but this did not work. I tried to update manually (from
Microsoft website) unsuccessfully.
Every time I do this, a new restore point is made.
Does anybody know how to solve this problem, which affects a lot of people?

I am also having the exact same problem. I use a Fujitsu, Lifebook series 5.
It's very annoying going through the retry installation to be told it failed
every time Iboot in. Thanks for a suggstion.....

Am having same error. Please see post "Update for Windows Vista (KB942763)
returns error 80070643" dated 12-11-07. Am using Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop
running Vista Home Premium. Someone please advise.
