A retail store.
Online stores.
Basically - places that sell computer parts/accessories and software should
be able to sell you Wndows XP. However - if your machine was manufacturerd
and came with Windows 98 - you would be wiser to find a deal on a newer
computer (even refurbished) that comes with Windows XP Home or Professional
and just upgrade the entire box.
Just keep your monitor...
Example finds:
Refurbished Dell with XP Home, $199.99+shipping.

Refurbished Dell with XP Professional, $249.99+shipping.
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...240&CatId=2632
Both have 512MB memory, 40GB hard disk drives.
The XP home machine has 3 months of warranty - with option to purchase up to
an additional 2 years for $41 more.
The XP professional machine has 1 year of warranty - with option to purchase
up to an additional 2 years for $59 more.
The software by itself (Windows XP Home or Professional) would cost
$90-$300 - dependin on which one you got and what type of license. This
way - for the sam eprice range after shipping (just about) you get the
software and a warranty on a machine that will run it much bertter than what
you likely have now.
