updates

when using the update.microsoft.com site, only this appears:

Checking if your computer has the latest version of Windows updating
software for use with the website…

The website uses ActiveX controls to determine which version of the software
your computer is running. If you see an ActiveX warning, make sure the
control is digitally signed by Microsoft before installing it or allowing it
to run.

**there is no ActiveX bar appearing

Test with this diagnose test, connection to MS, that scripts working,
ActiveX, etc etc.

Can you go to Windows Update, select Express (Get high-priority updates),
and apply all offered updates
<http://www.update.microsoft.com>

Once that is finished, can you verify the update installs?

the window shows all is good except the Windows update...still no bar for
installing activex...thoughts?

Go ahead and download Dial-ª-Fix

Reboot into safe mºde (F-8)

Click the green checkmark and click Go.

After it has finished, try Windows Update
<http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/
