Update kb/941600

Update kb/941600 that pertains to upgrading USB issues has a bug. After
installing in and then plugging in my flash drive I get the old error message
"This device can run faster on a 2.0 port" etc.. All I have are 2.0 USB
ports... I removed the update and all is well... Don't install it!

No repro here.

That's a bad advice, especially, if you've IE7 installed on the machine.
In case the registry hack in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943460
doesn't help you to workaround the problem, feel free to open a call
to MS PSS. The call should be free of charge *if* the issue is really
caused by any security update. You've missed the Webcast for the November
updates?
