Windows Updates fails as it tries to load, and gives no error numb

After installing Update KB943460, 11/13/07 on my x64 Windows OS, Microsoft
Update stopped working. Clicking on Microsoft update brings me to Windows
Update, and then Windows update fails with: "Windows Update has encountered
an error and cannot display the requested page." and no further error
messages to follow through with. --System Restore will not allow me to go
back..."No Changes Made" with each attempt.
