windows xp service pack 3 will not install
Automatic updates has downloaded windows service pack 3 but it won't install.
I don't get an error number it just says it was not installed. Any ideas?

I think you must reffering to Microsoft Office SP3???

Try downloading it manual and put thee office cd in the cd/dvd romplayer

Automatic updates has done no such thing. You may believe it has - but it
has not. Windows XP SP3 is not for public consumption at this time - it is
in testing.

I bet if you actually read closely what it says it has downloaded - the word
"Windows" will be replaced with "Office"? Have you tried putting you
installation media for Office into the CD/DVD drive when you
download/install said update?

Stick yout MS *Office* 2003 CD into the CD drive & try again.
