Defender update preventing me form playing sound

Deffender has installed an update for me yesterday that prevents me from
playing ANY sound with any application... music files, video files play but
with no sound, video games have no sound, etc. Windows will still make its
normal sounds of beeps and boops though... I tried to roll back my computer
and succeded but defender updated itself again without my permission... now i
have no rollback point and still no sound... I'm completely lost....

Either install the latest sound card driver from the manufacturer's website,
or uninstall Defender.

Windows version?

Microsoft has established separate newsgroups for Windows Defender support
and comments. This is not one of them.
