Windows Update Problem - PLEASE HELP ANYONE!!!!

I have been trying to update my computer since Oct. 18 but I have not
been able to. I have Windows XP Home Edition. When I try to run the update
all I get is:

The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are
trying to view.

Then it has the error number: 0x80072EFD

How do I configure a Proxy/Firewall - I need a step by step instruction.

Can anyone help me???

You may receive an "Error 0x80072EE2," "Error 0x80072EE7," "Error
0x80072EFD," "Error 0x80072F76," or "Error 0x80072F78" error message when you
try to use the Windows Update Web site or the Microsoft Update Web site
