Windows Update Site never loads
I have encountered a problem while i was trying to load the Microsoft Update
site.
I have a Windows XP Professional Version with SP2.
I have tried to get to the Microsoft Update Site to do the necessary updates
but the site was not loading.
I was stopped to the point that loads the ActiveX control to load the
options of what to search for.
It keeps loading and loading the same page

Hello MatrixMs,

Please confirm your system clock and Time Zone also the Date set properly,
Having it set incorrectly can cause this type of behavior.


Test with this diagnose test, connection to MS, that scripts working.

Reboot


Try to reach Windowsupdate and Select Express (Get high-prtiority updates),
and apply all offered upfates.
http://update.microsoft.com


A free prog. called "dial-a-fix", will sort out your download prob.and some
others if you need,.....

Go ahead and download Dial-a-fix.
http://wiki.djlizard.net/Dial-a-fix

Reboot into safe mºde (F-8)

Click the green checkmark and click Go.

After it has finished,

Reboot

Try Windows Update and see if you can get your updates installed.

Let us know what happens.

Please post the last 50 or so lines of the WindowsUpdate.log
Start > Run > type in, or copy&paste, the below into the Open: line

Click OK or press Enter

Re: Windows Update Site never loads
Some 'thing' is blocking communication with an ActiveX control on the MU
site. If the system is on a network then log into the router and see if
that is causing the blocking. Same with the firewall and any security
software installed.

Other 'things' that can cause this are *malware*, cookie blocking/popup
blocking/download accelerator software, and/or data corruption in the
SoftwareDistribution folder.
