AVG Free Problems

I'm running Home Premium with AVG version 7.5.472 and virus base 269.8
17/850.

I've run this for quite some time without problems and have made no changes
but I now keep getting a "red error state" advising that I have a new
priority update ready in update manager. I have downloaded the update both
manually (click on update) or with the auto settings and I keep getting
update successful. However, about a minute in to any restart the AVG warning
comes up and I am advised update manager is in an error state again.

As I have the free version there is no tech support.

Hope someone can help.

Uninstall it and re-install..... that usually fixes it.......
