VIRUS' Consent UI Errors

hey, i'm not really good with computers, but i'll try and describe this
as best i can. last night avg popped started detecting virus'. i did a
scan and tried to heal, remove, quarauntine or lock in the vault the
infected files. nothing would work. as soon as i tried to delete the
files, vista's consent ui pops up and says it has stoped working and
needs to close. the virus seems to be infecting everything i try and
remove or open. i was going to do a factory restore, but i'm not
certain that will clean out everything. i would like to format my hd,
but i dont have a vista disk. i do have a system recovery disk that i
made using the disk tool when i first got the pc about 6 months ago.

If you made the system recovery disk using the HP utility you can restore
the computer to "out of box" condition. You don't have to worry about
formatting as it will be taken care of for you.

Remember to save all your personal files to external media as everything
will be lost in the recovery process.

Also, once you're up and running, remember to virus scan your personal files
BEFORE you copy them back to your computer.
