Windows Calendar Problem/Task Scheduler
Hi all,
I bought a new Acer Aspire recently with Vista, and ever since creating a
reminder in Windows Calendar it will bring up an error on startup and close
the program. I believe this is a problem with something in the task
scheduler settings, to do with the 'reminders' setting on the Windows
Calendar section of task sheduler. It brings up this error when opened:

"An error has occured for task Reminders - (my name). Error Message: The
specified account name is not valid."

Reminders is the scheduled task for Windows Calendar (and the source of my
problem). However, if I select the Windows Calendar folder in Task
Scheduler, it shows nothing in the folder, same goes if you select "show
hidden items". I tried re-creating the task, but it says that the task
already exists in the folder. If you try to delete the entire folder it says
that you must delete all the tasks in the folder first, which I can't do
because I cant see the task in the first place.

It looks like this problem has stuck quite a few Vista users, and there is
no useful help available from Microsoft. If anyone has any ideas it would be
much appreciated.

Regards,
Jono

Sorry to dig up an old post, but I am having the same issue here. Vista premium x64 SP1.
Same error when opening task scheduler and when clicking on the WindowsCalender folder in task scheduler. No items displayed, not even when "show hidden tasks" is clicked, but when trying to delete the folder or manually recreate the task I get the message that the task does in fact exist.
I am hoping someone has a solution by now.

appointment in each and every day. I don't want it to go on forever.

Hi Altoamuy,

Click on the recurrence button and choose advanced. Place there for an
end date.
