Time Java script
With XP I was using a US gov sight that gave continuous accurate time, but
can't get it to work with Vista. Keep getting an error message indicating
it is an unrecognized site. Any help in resolving would be appeciated.

Re: Time Java script
I have pasted the link below, and it contains the script. It is currently
running fine on my XP machine.

Re: Time Java script
Download the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 on this page (4th download down
on the page):

http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

You will be re-directed > choose the jre-6-windows-i586.exe file.

Re: Time Java script
Thanks, the script now works. Howerver it takes much much longer to load
under Vista, 15 seconds vs 3 seconds on my XP machine - any ideas? Or is
this just another of the Vista improvements !!

Re: Time Java script
I'm glad to know it's working. The site may be slow due to the time of day,
or the fact that the first time you run the applet, it hasn't been cached yet
by the JRE. I have noticed myself that when loading the time site that
speeds may vary...

Re: Time Java script
To clarify, I opened the site several times, on Vista PC, to in insure it
was cached. Then I ran it, each time it took about 15 seconds. At exactly
same time of day ran on XP machine and it took 3 seconds to open, tried
several times with same results.
