Can I rephrase this? Is the question "can I automatically connect to a
network that does not broadcast the SSID?"
If that's the question then I believe the answer is no, by design. The
problem is that if you do that automatically then you will automatically
connect to a rogue network with the same SSID that does broadcast the SSID.
