Windows Vista Ultimate
Good afternoon people, my first post here

ok where to start i have had windows vista 2 days now, and i havent bin able
to sign into msn live messenger, i get error "81000306" i have also looked
into the firewall and messenger is ticked. i can sign into msn live messenger
on my Windows XP SP2 computer no problems there! i am not having any other
problems with Vista as of yet. i post here to seek some help. as it says
"Windows Live Messenger has made several attempts to sign you in. Your
firewall may be blocking Windows Live Messenger from connecting to the
service."

i have windows live onecare installed at the moment and windows defender
running! msn and other applications are allowed to connect to the internet
other application e.g Ventrilo are working fine its really just msn live
messenger, i have tried 3/4 different verisons of msn now and geting the same
error

MSN/Tools/Options/Connection

"Connection Status" you are currently not connected to .NET Messenger Service"

You are connected to the internet through wired network connection"

MSN/Tools/Options/Connection/Advanced Settings/
TCP no advanced settings for a TCP connection.
TAB - TEST

Resolving the server name...
connection to the server...
Connection, verifying ability to send data now...
Success, you can connect to the windows live messenger service

does anyone have any ideas i could try?

Just thought id add also i am connected to my BB via a Netgear Router. my
brother is also on Windows Vista Ultimate on his IBM laptop and he was also
