Vista Home Premium stating "log in as administrator" when I alread

I am/have an administrative account on a Vista Home Premium PC, but
the system says that access is denied went I attempt to reinstall my talk
talk broadband - as I am having issues with connection to the internet. The
disk on my XP machine worked and remembers where it has got to and continued.
However, I cannot even get the .exe ti start due to this message "You are
not logged into your computer as an Administrator. This installer requires
that the user be logged in as an Administrator. Please log out and log back
in as an Administrator, then restart the installer". How can I get round
this?

Hello Jane,

Right-click on the installer .exe file and select 'Run as Administrator'.

Do you know what UAC is about?

A user with Admin rights is locked down on Vista and only has Standard user
rights in some cases. The user's rights sometimes even Admin rights have to
be escalated with Run As Administrator.

You can always turn UAC off and back on, but you should learn how to work
with UAC.

Thank you. I have tried my best at re-installing my talktalk broadband. It
connects but errors once in a while. I will speak to them tomorrow when they
are open. Diagnostics on the modem fails on ATM Connection Test.

Thank you. I have tried my best at re-installing my talktalk broadband now I
can get into the disk! It connects but errors once in a while. I will speak
to them tomorrow when they are open. Diagnostics on the modem fails on ATM
