Multi-function scanner does not work after reboot

I have Windows Vista and a Canon MP 600 multi-function printer. After I
update the drivers, both the scanner and printer work great. After I reboot,
only the printer works. When I try to scan, it says the scanner isn't
connected. I've uninstalled and re-installed drivers and talked with Canon.
They said it sounds like a Registry problem. HELP!

Mine works fine....I have a suggestion which may be worthless but.....
Uninstall all the Canon software, download fresh, turn off the printer,
reboot and try installing again, wait until the software asks for the
printer to be turned on/connected.
