printer not found

Please help! I just got a new computer w Vista/office 2007 and now I can't
print anything. Software and driver is installed correctly but it keeps
saying printer not found despite being connected and turned on. anyone have a
similar experience..ps this printer works fine w my other laptop

Try telling us which version of VISTA, the make and model of laptop and
of the printer and how it is connected to the laptop.

I have Vista basic, the laptop is a Dell inspiron 6400, the printer is
connected by a USB port, thanks

We still don't know which printer you have. I'll assume a Dell but there
are several models.
