Talking to the modem ...

I've got a problem with my modem, and I want to talk to it. However,
HyperTerminal has gone, so what do I do?

Yes, I suggest that you do. Tell it that you won't tolerate such
misbehavior again. ;-)

There is lots of other communications software available. Google
should turn up several choices for you.
