Vista Photo Printing
I've got an HP 952C (Inkjet, USB) being used with Vista Home Premium on a new
dual-core 2GB machine. The driver was automatically provided by MSFT. My
problem is that Windows Photo Gallery and Microsoft Office Picture Manager do
not properly print out a 4X6 photo. What happens is that the paper only moves
about 1 inch during the printing process, and then, after a while, the
printer spits out the photo with the large remaining part blank.
However if I use non-MSFT programs for the printing (Adobe Photoshop
Elements 4, Firefox, LView Pro) the photos print OK So it would seem that the
driver is not the problem?
Any suggestions on how to print using the MSFT photo products?
PS: If I try to use IE to print an image, the photo appears on the screen,
but the Print command does not show the HP 952C as a printer that can be
selected. The other printers are all shown. But the other image programs,
including the MSFT photo programs that don't work right, do show the 952C
printer as a selectable printer. It seems that the 952C is an unwanted orphan
that's merely tolerated.
