Add Printer wizard does not start in vista

I have a 32bit vista ultimate and I can't fire the wizard to add a
printer. it doesn't start at all, or even give an error.

When I try firing from the command line, i get this error:
- "Error loading printui.dll. A dll initialization routine failed".

I tried changing the printui.dll to no avail.

I ran the command line "sfc /scannow" which logs the following in the
CBS.log file:

- "printui.dll.mui do not match actual file [l:30{15}]"printui.dll.mui"
and says it cannot do anything.

I'm at the end of my wits and I would appreciate some help

what are the file dates of

\windows\system32\printui.dll
and
\windows\system32\en-us\printui.dll.mui substitute \en-us\ with the
locale from your machine if different.

Thanks for the reply Alan,
Both the \windows\system32\printui.dll and
\windows\system32\en-us\printui.dll.mui have the same date of 1/20/2008

launch Network Add Printer. You can add local printers as well.

at a command prompt

printui /ip
