printer prints blank page

I have Vista home premium and a Dell 926 AIO printer. With every printing
attempt, my printer spits out a blank page or almost blank page on the
first try. On second attempt, it works. I have tried the uninstalling and
re-installing route but that clears up the problem only temporarily. How
can I solve this problem?
