scanning using photo gallery

so my printer is pre-vista and the software wont work
so im using windows photo gallery to scan which is fine for single pages
but i have a ton of photos to scan and it's making me press "import from scanner" EVERYTIME
is it possible to scan without having to open that up everytime?
